Launched in 2025, Oxford Green Estate (OGE) is a collection of 23 green spaces across the University, managed by Estates Services. Sites include the iconic Wytham Woods, Park Farm, and its traditional hay meadows, as well as Godstow Nunnery and Court Place Gardens.

Volunteers help put Bear Wood on the map

The Oxford Green Estate team held a successful planting event on Friday 7 November, with around 100 friends and supporters helping lay the foundations for a new area of forest on the margins of Wytham Woods.

Our Prime Tree is probably 350 years old. Our oldest oak - Broad Oak - is probably 680 years old.

Dr Ryan McClory spent three years at Wytham investigating oak masting. This is an unusual feature of the reproductive cycle of certain tree species, including oaks in the UK.
