Bear Wood is a new project to create an oak dominated woodland on the banks of the River Thames. All of the work has been funded through the generous donations of our permit holders.
Court Place Gardens is managed as a green space for the public, with the aim of providing a source of education to the local community, and investigating ways to enhance its habitats and nature value.
The ruins of a 12th-century abbey, or nunnery, stand in a meadow beside the River Thames at Godstow, just north of the city. Godstow Abbey is famed as the burial place of 'Fair Rosamund' de Clifford, Henry II's mistress.
Park Farm comprises 115 acres of permanent pasture just across the River Cherwell from University Parks. Now that it is directly under the control of the University it can be used for research projects, taking advantage of its rich habitats, SSSI status, and central location.
